Children! Do stay away from selfish friends

Ubqari Magazine - November 2016

Due to hot weather, his situation was getting bad. He took off all his clothe and jumped in the nearby flowing stream, then he got some peace. The wind got much embarrassed after seeing its pride getting down. It apologized from the sun and never again got proud for its power.

The tension between the sun and the wind:

One day sun and the northern winds got together. After salam, the sun asked; “O madam wind, how are you, seeming a bit weak”, madam wind who was very proud said; “Brother sun! What do you talk! I am today too very powerful than you. Do competition whenever you want”. A man was walking on the road. The sun said: “Madam Wind, the one who would be more powerful, will force this man to take off his clothes.” The wind started blowing very fast. The man was holding an envelope in his hand which was containing a coat and blanket in it. He quickly wore the coat still was shivering. The wind blew more powerfully and so the man quickly wore the blanket too. Wind got really worried. Now it was the turn of sun. It started increasing its hotness slowly. The man thought, it’s a strange day. Just now it was so cold and now it’s getting hot. First he took off the blanket and then the coat too. Due to hot weather, his situation was getting bad. He took off all his clothes and jumped in the nearby flowing stream, and then he got some peace. The wind got much embarrassed after seeing its pride getting down. It apologized from the sun and never again got proud for its power. Dear children, the only people who get success in this world are the ones who stay away from arrogance and pride.

Children! Do stay away from selfish friends:

Once upon a time, there were two friends. One was very thin and the other was obese. Both friends started going towards the city from their village, in search of job. In the way, there was a jungle in which there were very dangerous animals. They just went little bit for that they saw a fat bear coming out of the trees. The thin friend jumped and climbed on the tall tree. The wretched fat one also started trying to climb on the tree. First he got slipped and when he tried again the branch started to break. Please, pull me also up, the bear is coming near, it will eat me”. He got frightened and called his friend. The thin, skinny friend was holding up in the branches very calmly. He said; “No no, am I mad? While escaping you if the branch broke or if I myself fall down so the bear will eat me. I can’t do anything for you. You know and your business”. The fat friend got sad after listening to this. Now the bear got very near. The fat one lay on the ground immediately. He had already listened that if you lie down silently and don’t even move a little bit so then the bear don’t say you anything, considering that you are dead. The bear came near and for some continued smelling in the ear of the fat one. He stopped his breath for sometime completely and so the bear moved forward thinking that he is not alive. After the bear went, the fat one got up quickly and started walking on his own way. Now his thin friend also got down. He came near to him and asked; “What was the bear saying in your ear?” The fat one replied; “The bear was saying that it’s better to be alone than to be with a selfish friend”. After saying this he started walking. His friend got really embarrassed on his selfishness. Dear children, we should stay away from selfish friends. A friend is the one who helps you in time of need.

The fool farmer, son and the donkey:

Once upon a time, a farmer lived in a village. He used to do farming to feed him and his child. He also had a donkey on which he used to take wheat to the city for selling. According to Allah’s plan, for one year there was drought in the village and no crops got ready. The farmer got very worried. He thought that we should sell the donkey in the city because when there are no crops, so what is the benefit of donkey then. Early in the morning he took his son Arif and started going towards the city.

When they got near stream, some women were washing clothes there. When they saw the farmer and Arif, pulling the donkey, they started laughing. The farmer asked: “Why are you laughing while looking at us?” One woman from them replied: “O fool! If you have some intelligence, then make your son sit on the donkey”. The farmer immediately made Arif sat on the donkey and started walking himself. They went a little bit far that an old woman was seen coming from front. She was having a stick on her hand. When she got near, she said, “Fool boy! Shame on you! Your old father is walking barefoot and you are sitting on the donkey. Get down”.  Arif got very embarrassed and got down quickly. Now the farmer sat on the donkey and Arif start walking together. On their way, they met a traveler. He was very talkative. He asked them that where were they going. The farmer said: “We are going to city”. “So why are you walking. You are having the donkey, so why don’t you both sit on it?” The traveler said. The farmer made Arif sit on the donkey after listening to it. The day was really hot that day. The wretch donkey was thirsty and hungry already, apart from that when so much of burden got on him so he started breathing fast. Very hardly, it covered some way that a man screamed from the nearby farms: “Do some mercy on the wretch donkey, will you kill him?” The farmer said: “What is with you? It’s our donkey, already we are going to sell it”. That man said: “With this condition, you won’t get good price of it”. The farmer thought that why don’t we pick up the donkey ourselves. He tied the legs of donkey with one rope and hanged it on one stick. The farmer holds one end of the stick and Arif the other, and both started walking. When they passed from one bridge of stream the donkey hit a hard leg to them. The farmer and Arif just left holding it but the donkey fell in the stream. Dear children, as many people are there, they say that much. The intelligent man is the one who thinks from his own mind and don’t listen to people.
